Project 366: Day 31 Rallycross

I spent today at Durhamtown for a SCCA rallycross event. Steve's brother decided to put a car in after just buying it this week. It was so much fun watching. I can't wait to go to the next one.

Project 366: Day 30 - Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park

I spent this morning with my best friend walking up Kennesaw Mountain. We are so lucky to live near the national park. It is a beautiful oasis to escape the gigantic retail world just a few minutes away with its concrete and traffic. There are many trails to hike in the park but my favorite one is where you can walk up the mountain. It is about a 2 mile hike going up and back down. For more information about the park click HERE

I can not wait until the time change comes around and it is daylight longer. Occasionally, during the summer we will go walk up the mountain after work. With it getting late as early as it does now it makes it impossible.

When it is a clear day you can see pretty far from the top of the mountain. There is Atlanta off in the distance. You can also pick out Marietta out of this picture if you know where to look. Also if this picture was more the the left you could plainly see Stone Mountain.

The park is also extremely dog friendly. Sometimes walking up the mountain seems like a dog show. Today we saw everything from a Great Dane to this little tiny fluffy puppy that looked like a toy when the girl put it down. There are also some really great field for picnics on a nice warm day.

Have you been to Kennesaw Mountain? If so where to you like to go?

Project 366: Day 28

Feeling very accomplished tonight. Finished my blurb book and have it ordered before 11 p.m. I always seem to be cutting it close with the sale deadlines. I did my second cycling class of the week. And I got Gipsy to sit in front of the little fire we had. Sometimes it is the little things.

Project 366: Day 27

When Blurb is having a sale I have to sit at the computer and make a book. Hopefully I'll have this one finished before the sale ends tomorrow. If not at least I'll have another one ready for the next sale.

Project 366: Day 24

I spent the majority of the day with Steve and my Dad trying to rescue my Dad's truck that broke an axle yesterday and had to be left in a parking lot. Then once I got home I had to work on my etsy store. If you did not know I have one.. I do! It is called Focusing Daily Photography and Household Vintage. I am slowly but surely working on getting it fill up. I promise not to do this to much during the year but my photo for today is a set of Pyrex mixing bowls on sale in my shop.

Project 366: Day 22 Beginning of the End of a Snow Day

It finally started to snow! Waited all day for something to stick. Maybe we will wake up
tomorrow to a blanket of snow. That would be nice.

Day 19:

Top Products of 2015

Finally here are my favorite products of 2015. I found a few great products and kept up with a few past favorites. I would love to hear what your favorites from this past year have been. Do we have any in common? From what I have selected what do you suggest I try next?

L'Oreal Infallible Pro-Matte Foundation - I love this foundation. If you have not noticed I have two tubes in the picture. I do not have a perfect shade so I mix two 102 and 103. When I have a super tan the 103 works on its own and while I am paler like now I use the 102. The majority of the year though I am right smack dab in the middle.

Maybelline Fit Me Concealer - This concealer has consistently done me well all year long. I think this may be my holy grail concealer. I have tried a few over the past few years and this one just seems to be the best I have tried. I also love that I can find it pretty much everywhere I go.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz - This is probably the most popular product on favorite lists. I don't know if it can get better than the Brow Wiz. I am actually out of mine right now and am trying a NYX one that is really similar. I still love the Brow Wiz more. Once i'm out of the other pencil i'll go back to this old faithful.

Kat Von D Tattoo Liner - This liner has done me well this year. If I had to choose my all time favorite I would go with the Stila liner. But this one is so different with the brush tip. Also it lasted me the entire year. It literally just started to dry up this week.

Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara - I love this mascara. I got my first one Christmas 2014 and I keep buying it. For years I always had issues with mascara's transferring to my eyelid. I would look in the mirror and realize that I must have looked crazy for half the day with black streaks everywhere. I have never had this issue with this mascara. It does not even say its waterproof! I even have worked out at lunch with this on and I don't have issues. I just love it. I do think it is one that gets better after you have had it open. Don't judge it when you have first opened it.

I did not really have a favorite eye shadow or palette this year. If you have any suggestions please let me know!

Day 17: Spring trying to peak through

Estate Sale Haul

Hopefully, y'all saw my image of the day yesterday which is of this beautiful 60's night gown set that I got at an estate sale. I mentioned that it has been a while since I have been to a sale. Now that we are past the holidays hopefully I can get out and find some treasures to share more often. I wanted to share the rest of the items that I found with y'all.

While Christmas is over I realized that I need to up my kitschy game for next Christmas. I am always on the look out for nice vintage Christmas items. I would love to find a silver tree or a cool star for the top of my tree. I  love these little candles with the orange lights. I am lucky and all of the bulbs actually work.

I usually do not but frames at estate sales unless they are really special. This one jumped out to me. I love that I can find something that would be a lot more at like Pottery Barn or Restoration Hardware when I go to sales. I would love to put a nice black and white portrait of Steve and I in the frame.

It is hard for me to go to an estate sale and leave without a piece of glassware. I believe I found the one piece of Fire King in the whole house. While the Jadeite Fire King pieces are beautiful I am really drawn to the white Fire King pieces as well.

I found these wonderful pyrex beakers. Someone in the house must have been an armature chemist. I think these might be fun to use as short vases with some large flower blooms. Also once we have a darkroom set up we will probably need all the measuring tools I can find. The smaller 200mil one might not be to helpful but it is adorable.

Lastly, I ended up with this lithograph by John Haymson. Sadly, it is in pretty poor condition. It was pulled from its frame at some point. It looks like it had been professional framed too. There is some coloring on the paper. I just could not leave it behind once I saw it. I might try to remove it from the mat. It is stuck between a few different layers then seems to be glued to a super thin piece of wood. So I am not sure I can rescue it without damaging it. We will see..

I love the movement from the cars and the trees. I will definitely be on the look out for more of Haymson's prints.

Have you found any awesome treasures lately? I would love to hear about them!
