My Favorite Lip Products

About a year ago I would never have worn lipstick on a regular basis but the last few months I have been really enjoying using lip products. I thought that I would share some of my favorites.

I have fallen in love with the Wet'n'Wild Mega Last lip sticks. I tried the NYX round lipsticks and they have not worked well for me. I think that I might have chosen bright colors that do not work well for me because they are bright and I have darker toned lips. But back to the WNW lipsticks I love them and will probably pick up more! For a $1.99 I do not think that they can be beat. I am tempted to just buy all of the shades. Also I was checking out the Wet'n'Wild website and it looks like they are coming out with new lipsticks (I have never seen these) called Mega Shield. I choose two pretty different colors Think Pink (901B) and Coral-ine (909D).
This is Think Pink, the name was on the actual tube and the number version of the name is on the bottom. The first picture has a little smudge because I've been mixing it with the coral-ine color to tone it down. This is a really pretty pink color, it is more cool toned on my skin. I love the color pay off is really good and they stay on for a few hours. Then they need to be touched up.

This is Coraline- I love this one! It is swatched next too Think Pink. It is definitely a bold bright color. I think it is gorgeous.

Finally my NYX lip balm in Xie Xie is a really pretty warm fushia. The balm is really moisturizing, because it is the product does have the tendency to slip around. I have combated this by rubbing the product into my lips when I first put it on so it becomes like a stain then I put a little bit on for the balm feel. The color can be built up to be quite vibrant.

Far Left one swipe, built up from there.
What it looks like on.
I think that I am going to have to invest in more lip products. When I was going through my make up drawer for this post I realized that I do not have any lip glosses.

What is your favorite lip product?
What is your favorite lip gloss?

*Rose Gold Trend*

I have been noticing for a while that everyone is getting into the rose gold obsession. I really like the rose gold I think it is an interesting way to wear gold. Also I am not a huge fan of bright gold so I think this is perfect for me. So I thought I would share some affordable rose gold finds. I know there are some gorgeous rose gold watches and jewelry out there but I am going to concentrate on items that are under $50. Because it is a "trend" at least for some, if you love it i'd go for the Michael Kors watch, it is not something that you want to invest a lot of money in.

Forever 21 has a few different rose gold sandals that are under $10. They are both called Metallic Thong Sandals but are different. My favorite is the Metallic Thong Sandal in rose that has the rose color on the bottom of the shoe also.Other options here and here.

Also another option is the Rose Gold Glitter Nail polish from their Love & Beauty line. Another nail polish is Essie's Luxeffect "a cut above."
Found this cute bracelet on Shop Bop it is by Shashi and is only $20 and would look cute with a bunch of other bracelets which is another trend going on.

Also Marc by Marc Jacobs has some great Rose gold items my favorite is the classic small turnlock Katie ring. There are other great items like the classic Marc Domed Logo stud earrings, mini charm heart stacking ring, and turnlock stud earrings.

Lastly there is a clutch from ASOS that I found that is normally $26.09 but is on sale for $15.66! It is really simple and I think it would be a cute addition to lots of different outfits.

Let me know what your favorite rose gold item is!

My First Mac Product!

I have been looking at Mac products for a while. After watching many youtube videos and reading blog posts about Mac products I have finally taken the plunge. I have been wanting a good concealer because even though I am only 20 I have begun to see dark circles forming and even wrinkles!! Ah, very unhappy about that. On Easter my grandmother gave me a gift card to Macy's and the Macy's where I live has a Mac and Lush counter. I first went to Lush and they gave me a sample of the Ocean Salt scrub because I always like to try their products before I buy a full size. My skin can be very picky. But back to Mac!

I decided to buy a concealer and I had the Mac attendant help me decide which one I wanted. I came in thinking that I was going to buy studio sculpt or studio finish. But when I put on the studio sculpt it just felt unbelievably heavy underneath my eyes. So the very helpful lady pointed out the Pro Longwear concealer. I tried it on with a color that is slightly darker to my skin tone and then with one a little lighter. There was not an exact color for me so I went with the lighter one. I do think that I might have to go a little bit darker for the summer because I think the NW20 will be too light. I do set the concealer with a powder. I have noticed that it will slightly crease but not badly. I would definetly repurchase it and I will probably do that in the summer when I am tanner.

It looks a lot lighter on my hands because I remember to wear spf on my face every day and my hands I sadly do not do this with often.
Also my friend Alyssa was shopping with me and when we went to the Mac counter I got her to put on her first lipstick! I think it was Vegas Volt, a very bright coral color and she loved it! I put on the new Viva Glam lipstick by Nicki Minaj. I thought that this was going to look ridiculous on me but it ended up looking really good and I think I might have to go buy it. I think that the Viva Glam line is a wonderful way of supporting AIDs research.

Real Techniques Brushes

Hey guys! I have been looking at the Real Technique brushes for a while now since I started watching the Pixiwoo sisters on youtube. The other week ULTA had them on buy one get the other half off! So I sold back some of my textbooks and I got the exact amount that I needed so I went on an ULTA trip. =] I decided to get the Core Collection and the Starter Kit. The Core Collection has face brushes and the Starter Kit is made up of eyeshadow brushes.

Both kits come in very cool little stand that is also a case! There is a base shadow brush, deluxe crease brush, accent brush, pixel-point eyeliner brush, and a brow brush.

My favorite brush is definitely the deluxe crease. It is so fluffy but very dense and blends amazingly. I also really like the brow brush and the one that is the accent brush. I am a little disappointed in the pixel eyeliner brush I think it needs to be like half the size that it is the brush seems very large for an eyeliner brush.
This is the Core Collection! The face brushes are definitely my favorite and if your choosing to pick up only one set at first I would say go for this one!  This set has a detailer brush, pointed foundation, buffing brush, and a contour brush.

My favorite brush in the set is the buffing face brush. I love how this is with my foundation.
My second favorite brush is the contour brush. This is great for my blush. I have been really into cream blushes and lately I have been dabbing a little bit of cream blush and blending it in with this brush.

I love these brushes I think that I am going to have to stock up on some more of these brushes. Especially Powder brush, the fine liner brush, and the shading brush. Also they are the synthetic brushes and cruelty free.

Also the Buy 1 the 2nd 50% off is still going on at ULTA.

Race Weekend!

Hey guys! Sorry I haven't posted in a few days but I have been working a lot and have had my finals. So far I have 1 A and 1 B so fingers crossed that my other two classes end up being A's! Besides working and finals I had a little break with my boyfriend. Last weekend I went to The Mitty at Road Atlanta.

Road Atlanta is a road racing track in Braselton, Ga they have races like The Mitty, Petite Le Mans and WERA motorcycle events. This year there were cars  IMSA Camel GT, SCCA Trans-Am, Can-Am, Formula One, CART and even NASCAR Winston Cup cars series. If you would like to find out more information about Road Atlanta I will link their site here. The Mitty is all about historic sports cars and this year there was a celebration of British cars tons of MG's and Triumphs!

A little history about my relationship and the Mitty. Steve and I have been every year since we have started dating. This past Mitty was our 4th! The even is the weekend before finals for me and the first couple of years that we went that used to freak me out and I would bring books for in the car. I have decided that I like to think of our relationship in "Mitties" because we have been together for a little over 3 years but we have been to 4 "Mitties" together.

Every year we camp out at the track. If you have never been there the track is over 750 acres and a majority of them are nice wooded areas.  It is such a great experience to camp out, even though the cars WILL wake you up in the morning. There are bathroom and shower facilities for guests to use. Warning though the bathrooms are like camping bathrooms if any dirt or bugs freak you out it might be best to find a hotel. There are stalls and sinks but there is only one shower stall in most of the bathrooms and the only protection is from a thin shower curtain. And NO hot/warm water. How I have dealt with the bathroom/shower issue in the past is to bring a bathing suit to jump into the shower, with flip flops on, and atleast wash my hair. My hair can not go more than 2 days with out being washed.  On to the fun things that come with the track! We always have a small camp fire, this year camp fires were banned because of a burn ban in the area, but my Uncle came and he brought a metal fire pit for us to use. Also HSR through great little events at night and there is a pop up bar that they always have.

Alright I will shut up now and show you some pictures!
View from the Pace car! We were able to ride in the car at the beginning of a race! So much fun!

I love this one it is a BMW 2002 tii

There is a fraction of my pictures I think I have over 300 from the weekend. I did take a video of the pace car ride and I will post that later.

If you would like tips on what to pack for a camping trip or for a race weekend let me know!

My April Birchbox

Hey guys! I am sharing my April Birchbox! I have explained what type of service birchbox is in my last birchbox post which I will link here.

Picture from birchbox.com

Kahina™ Giving Beauty Argan Oil- Full Size $36
Kahina™ Giving Beauty Facial Lotion  - Full Size $62
Yes To™ Blueberries Brightening Facial Towelettes- Full Size $7.99
Wonderstruck Taylor Swift 3.4 oz- Full Size $59.50
Pür Minerals 4-in-1 Mineral Tinted Moisturizer- Full Size $34
BENTA BERRY G-1 Exfoliating Facial Cleanser - Full size $16

I used both of the Kahina products at the same time and they made my skin feel wonderful. My skin was very smooth. I wish I had more product than I received in the the little packages. The Yes To Blueberries towelettes were awesome and were personally one of my favorite products in the box and they were considered my little extra! The Wonderstruck Taylor Swift perfume smelled pretty good. I'm not a huge fan I like the Juicy perfume that I got a few boxes ago better. I was surprised thought because I tend to stay away from "celebrity" fragrances and I liked it more than I thought I would. The Benta Berry G-1 exfoliating facial cleanser was interesting and it was different because it has ground apricot seeds. It reminded me alot of the Pangea Organics facial scrub. I did not see big difference in my skin but I am also trying a lot of Lush products right now. Finally the Pur Minerals tinted moisturizer. I LOVED this product! When I tried it out the texture is so smooth that I could barely tell I was wearing anything. Also the coverage was pretty good for a tinted moisturizer. I think that this is the Pur Minerals answer to a bb cream. This is what is said about the tinted moisturizer on the Birchbox web site,
"Pür Minerals’s brand new mineral-based tint, which works simultaneously as a moisturizer, primer, sheer foundation, and SPF 20. The creamy formula smooths over all kinds of flaws—from stubborn lines to blotchy redness—with color-corrective pigments. At the same time, it plumps up skin with proven moisturizers and offers broad spectrum sun protection. The lightweight texture makes us forget we’re wearing any makeup at all."

Overall this was a great box and I thought it was good for the $10 that I spent on it. I am really excited about the next birchbox that is a Gossip Girl themed box.

Let me know what you got in your birchbox or other subscription service!
