Thrifting Goodies

Before the last couple of weeks I was in a thrifting dry spell. Then the other day I found a bunch of stuff that I talked about in my Thrift Haul. Well I wanted to show Steve the cool antique mall in the old factory and lo and behold I found a couple of more items. Another Butterfly Gold Cinderella bowl that matches the one I bought the other week! It is actually the large bowl in the set. Now I only need the other two bowls and I will have my first Cinderella set. It is not perfect but hey I was excited to find it!

Then I found my Polaroid 250 Land Camera!!! In my last Wednesday Wishlist post I said how much I wanted to find one of these. When we were walking around I turned a corner and it was sitting right on top of a table staring at me. Polaroid 250 Land Camera

I have wanted an old camera that I did not have to mess with someone else developing the film. I found a couple of articles the other week about Polaroid Land cameras. It is a match made in heaven. The film is still readily available and is pull apart. Steve and I went to an antique store on Friday and behold I turned to look at a table and the camera was sitting right there. It is meant to be because a week before when I was in there the camera was not there.

Miraculously the camera was only $10. When I took it home and opened it up the camera was in pretty good shape. A little bit of surface rust was inside but I took some alcohol and water and cleaned it with Q-tips. Then I bought the film off of amazon and Steve found me the special battery for it. You can convert it to use AAA batteries but I did not feel like cutting wires.Yesterday, I was able to use the camera.

I love it!!! I still have some kinks to work out. Still trying to get a hang of the focus, but I still like my slightly unfocused shots too. Next time I will perhaps try a different way of cleaning because in a few pictures I have some streaks across.

1. What is one make-up product you will never wear?




I have never worn false eyelashes. I do not think I would ever wear a full strip of false lashes. Possibly the individual lashes but never the traditional strip. They appear to be just to difficult to keep on the eyes. 

2. What is your favourite hair product?
Currently I am really enjoying the Suave Moroccan Argan Oil line. Specifically the styling oil. I have been using this at the ends of my hair.

3. Your favorite holiday destination / a holiday you are looking forward to?
So far I have really enjoyed the past two cruises that I have went on. I have been to a couple of different places in the Bahamas. I would really enjoy being able to take a trip to Europe though. Greece and Italy would be wonderful, I could put my Art History minor to work.

4. Which blogs inspire you?
I really enjoy reading A Beautiful Mess. I absolutely love their style and home decor ideas. Also they have a darn good photo ap (#ABeautifulMess). 

5. Why did you name your blog what you did?
I try to be eager to what will come with each new day. Also my name is Emily. And who does not like alliterations?

6. What is your favourite TV show and movie?
My favorite movie is hard to choose. I really love Pride and Prejudice, 10 Things I Hate About You, the Harry Potter movies....etc. I have a lot. Out of TV shows I really enjoy Dr. Who, New Girl, and The Vampire Diaries. Looking forward to the VD spin off The Originals. I actually sold some furniture to a set designer for The Originals today!

7. A food you could not live without?
Pickles.

8. What are your favorite pair of shoes?
Minnetonka moccasins! They are unbelievably comfortable.

9. What is something your readers don't know about you?
I played soccer for about 15 years.

10. Do you have a secret talent? If so what is it?
 hmmmmm....... If I told it would not be a secret.

11. Do you prefer make-up or fashion?
I really do not have a preference. I think you have to coordinate both together in some way.
